I had to buy a new bible recently because my other one was so “well loved” (aka gone through the battle fields of life), it lost its cover and half of Genesis had to be carefully placed in a drawer. 🤷🏻♀️
Anywho, I’m loving this Spirit-filled one and this “Truth-in-Action” jumped out today to share with all of you! 🗝
Over the years, as I’ve read my Bible, I have adopted the truth to call things what they are (sin) rather than watering it down, giving myself permission to live outside of God’s will. When I don’t call a sin a sin, and line my thought life up to God’s Word until my mind is renewed in Him, I’m subconsciously wrestling with my flesh, rather than living by God’s Spirit, not walking in the victory Jesus already paid for me to have. I also, without connecting with it, make excuses for my actions or how I’m feeling, blaming my circumstances rather than facing the reality that what I’m actually doing, is sinning AND not trusting God.
This includes worry, and anxiety! 🤯
If God says, “do not worry” and I’m living in worry, I am living in sin. I have to call it what it is. It’s in opposition of God’s will, His Truth and it’s His truth that sets me free!
If I find myself struggling with these two very common “feelings” I have to take a look at what’s going on in my heart and my thought life (I write about this concept in my book, Life is Muddy. You should but it 🤓). When I take an honest evaluation, I ALWAYS find that the truth is, I am not trusting God when I have worry and anxiety. 🤦🏻♀️
I have to turn from that way of living, dive into His Word until my thoughts line up with His truth and choose to confidently trust Him!
He IS trustworthy!
This becomes my worry and anxiety free zone.
It’s available to all of us! 🙌🏼
Trusting God crushes the worries and anxieties from this life.
You should try it. 🤍, J
