Worries of this Life

“The seed that fell among the thorns represents others who hear God’s word, but all too quickly the message is crowded out by the worries of this life, the lure of wealth, and the desire for other things, so no fruit is produced.” Mark 4:19-20 (NLT)

The phrase, “worries of this life” is the one I want to highlight today:

How often do you hear God’s Word, agree with it, like it, even share the inspirational message on social media, but immediately get knocked off course when your life gets hard, and worry sets in?

Do you believe God at His word?

Or— do the worries of this life leave you in a constant emotional push and pull, lacking the fruit that should be producing in your life?

We cannot manufacture this kind of fruit. God’s fruit is lasting and it is not contingent upon what’s going on around us, but the work of the Holy Spirit that He has done in us. As we lean into God, firmly rooted in His truth, not allowing the worries of life to consume us, His fruit is evident, we feel it, and others see it!

It’s time to allow the Word of God to penetrate deep into the soil of our hearts, confidently trusting Him no matter what happens in this life.

He will never leave you—
He will work ALL things out for good—
He restores—
He redeems—
He heals—
He is faithful—
He is just—
He is always working—
He is in your midst—
He is your God, and you can trust Him.

Never allow the worries of this life crowd out the beauty of God’s lasting fruit. 🤍, J
