Sweet Spot with Him

I was intentionally “detoxing” my brain from my prior busy weeks of Facebook Marketplace, OfferUp, DIY house projects that I decided to take on, and stilling myself before the Lord. I found that my mind wanted to keep drifting to a checklist of unfinished projects around my house, and had to fight for that space of stillness. As I pressed into that posture of a sound mind, worship music on, I was reminded of some words written in my book, Life is Muddy, that I believe the Holy Spirit wants me to share with you today.

“God wants us to go deeper with Him so He can take us higher.

He wants us to learn to turn off the always-on culture, stilling ourselves in His presence so that He can breathe vision and revelation into our souls that will lead us to place of complete satisfaction in Him.

This is why we must learn to still ourselves and limit distractions in order to receive and fulfill what it is God wants to do in us and through us. We need to start connecting with our own hearts, and realize that the hunger burning within us was not meant to be fed with the crumbs of another’s faith, or that good word we heard last week, or the dreams of someone else’s life, but to literally sit at the Lord’s table with Him in His presence, and enjoy the feast that He has prepared specifically for each of us.” -Life is Muddy

I pray you find that sweet spot in His presence as you learn to still yourself, and dine with Him.

Jillian, I loved your “Sweet Spot” message. I also have had a hard time focusing in prayer lately. Just finished a decorating project in my home and my thoughts constantly take me back there. I have asked God to help me take my thoughts captive and still me & my busy thoughts so I can focus more on Him. Thank you for this message. Very timely! I needed this. Denise
