Identity in Him

Identity in Him

Before I was fully awake, I woke up with a portion of my book playing through my mind. I slipped out of bed, poured my coffee and left that thought on my pillow. As I was out on my morning prayer run those very words came back even louder. ⁣

I believe it’s what God is pressing on my heart to share. I pray it meets whoever needs to hear this today! ♥️, J ⁣

“Do you realize your identity is NOT determined by how you feel, what you’ve been through, where you came from, your physical features, what others say (or even what you have said about yourself ), your job title or anything else between? Those might describe facts about your life, but the facts, feelings and opinions are not who you are by design.⁣

Most people miss this truth.⁣

It’s one of the biggest misconceptions in our culture; even those who appear to have a strong sense of “self-worth” miss this foundational concept…⁣

… The truth is our identity is found solely in the One who made us and what He says about us. ⁣

We can’t change the truth of where our identity comes from, but we can easily be misled. Our identity is much like our fingerprints. It’s part of our God-given design. Most of us are under the false impression that facts from life are what determine our identity, and through those facts we see ourselves.⁣

Our identity cannot be securely established on facts from life; our steady foundation is when we build on truths from God.⁣

Life is shaky. . .God is not!” -Life is Muddy ⁣

You made all the delicate, inner parts of my body and knit me together in my mother’s womb. Thank you for making me so wonderfully complex! Your workmanship is marvelous—how well I know it. You watched me as I was being formed in utter seclusion, as I was woven together in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed. How precious are your thoughts about me, O God. They cannot be numbered! Psalm 139:13-17 (NLT)
