I Am Who God Says I Am

But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His wonderful light.

-Peter 2:9 (NIV)

Do you realize what you think about yourself matters? You know, those secret thoughts you tell yourself that no one else hears.

They carry more power than you may realize.

Every time you find yourself saying (or thinking) “I am” followed by a negative thought you are automatically lining yourself up with words that carry the power to tear down, keeping yourself in a state of oppression, depression, and even self-hatred. If you continually agree with those negative thought patterns that are the opposite of God’s Truth, you will be fighting a downward spiral of hopelessness and defeat regularly. This cycle will keep you from living in the fullness of what Jesus paid for.

How can we walk confidently as a new creation in Christ while whispering thoughts of negativity, and living under self-destructive thought patterns?

The truth: we can’t. From there, we are forced to fake our way through life, living under that worldly concept of “faking it until we make it” with inner secret insecurities.

God desires for you to walk confidently in what He says about you — realize when Your Heavenly Father looks at you, He sees the finished work of the cross. Let’s get real — your thoughts and feelings about yourself will never change God’s mind, so you may as well just agree with what He says (whether you feel it or not) and learn to flush any thoughts that come against the knowledge of Truth, amen?

It’s time to break agreement with any words that are filling your mind with thoughts that are in opposition to what God says.

It’s time to declare “I am” God’s way and break the chains that have kept you believing you are anything less than what Our Father in Heaven says!

Today, and every day that follows, take those anti-God thoughts captive and replace them with declarations of Truth.

I am loved-

I am forgiven-

I am redeemed-

I am made new-

I am God’s masterpiece-

I am not my past-

I am not what my circumstances say-

I am not looking back-

I am not afraid-

I am not defeated-

I am chosen-

I am not forgotten-

I am called-

I am made for glory-

I am made on purpose for a purpose-

I am filled with God’s Spirit-

I am a history maker-

I am the head and not the tail-

I am a child of the King-

I am an heir to the throne of heaven-

I am not going to give up-

I am fearless-

I am anointed-

I am victorious-

I am running my race-

I am reaching the prize-

I am richly blessed-

I am dearly loved-

I am confident in Him-

I am free!

Prayer:

Father, thank you for your love. Thank you for calling me out of darkness and into Your glorious light. Today, and every day, I am going to consciously choose to line my thoughts up with Your thoughts about me. You have called me to live by faith and not by sight, forgive me, Lord, I have been living by my thoughts and feelings about myself. I am asking You to take Your Words of Truth from head knowledge and sync them deep into my heart until Your Truth is the only belief system I live from. Amen.
