How to Live in Harmony

How to Live in Harmony

Bless those who persecute you. Don’t curse them; pray that God will bless them. Be happy with those who are happy, and weep with those who weep. Live in harmony with each other. Don’t be too proud to enjoy the company of ordinary people. And don’t think you know it all! Romans 12:14-15 (NLT)

God calls us higher and often times that means we go lower in order to live in harmony with one another.

All of us.

All who call themselves sons and daughter of God.

That’s me and you. ♥️

His heart for us, and how He desires for us to live as examples, the extension of His heart, is very clear and woven throughout scripture.

Something I’m really pressing in and praying through as I navigate this current season.

I’m reminded several times a day, when faced with (and observing) extreme tension from all sides, that God has already established through His Word what His expectations are. Nothing we are facing today is new. What we are witnessing, has been written about. We could read the Bible cover to cover and find that everything we are experiencing today has been experienced since the fall of man and God shows us through His written Word exactly what to do about it, what to expect, and how to respond.

While I believe there are things, we the church are called to do in season, and God will continually give us wisdom and strategy as we move, we also have to remember that we are held accountable for our conduct, our behavior, our words and more importantly, what’s in our hearts.

When I hold myself up to the Word of God I truly can’t justify any kind of reactionary behavior. It completely goes against His heart. This includes what’s in my head because as long as I allow those ungodly thoughts to fester, they WILL seep into my heart, and what’s in my heart WILL leak out of my mouth. 🙊

I know you all know what I’m talking about. 🤦🏻‍♀️

We have to be sooooo intentional!

Especially in our current climate while emotions are high and tension is thick.

We have to take an honest evaluation of our thought life and renew our minds continually.

Let’s get with God and have a heart to heart with Him. Let’s purge all anger, hatred, bitterness, jealousy, rage, unforgiveness, and seeds of division. All those things will cloud our vision, blocking us from seeing others through God’s lens, and through the bloodshed of Jesus.

We can’t live out the Word of God until our hearts are lined up with His. When life squeezes us, we will find what’s actually in us and in those moments we can determine whether or not we have His fruit (love, joy, peace…) or the worlds (hatred, bitterness, strife…).

Let’s get real before God and do a heart cleanse so that what comes out of us looks purely like Him. 🔥💎♥️
