Deep morning thoughts and my cup of coffee with Jesus:
I was reflecting back on the many hard situations I’ve walked through, and started to think about a belief system that gets wired into our thinking if we don’t have a correct understanding of what we have through Jesus.
We can live with a misunderstanding based on circumstances that God is not showing up in our life, waiting for Him to act based on what we think life in Him should look like, but it’s usually our human understanding from a very limited scope. Not God’s.
And then, weariness sets in as we continually sink with every hard circumstance.
So, we wait for our “breakthrough” that doesn’t seem to come because we are focused on the wrong thing.
The Bible doesn’t say, “come to me and I will fix all your problems, and make your life as comfortable as possible.”
It says, come to Me and I will give you rest.
I will teach you my ways.
I will be your peace through the chaos.
I will be the light in you shining brightly in the darkest hours of this life.
You see, we were never promised that this life would be easy, or that we would never face hard things. In fact, Jesus told us just the opposite.
He said that WE WILL face hard things in this life, but to not worry because He has overcome the world. He said that we will have access to His continual, supernatural peace that is far greater than the “peace” this world has to offer.
It’s not circumstantial, or limited.
God also says that He will never leave us, and that He is our Shelter from all life storms as we trust Him.
Scripture after scripture confirms that because of Jesus, we have access to God’s presence and HE IS our safe place no matter what we face in this life.
When we get a revelation of this reality, and have experienced His overwhelming peace and comfort through the storms of life, we aren’t afraid of what might happen next.
We don’t live in worry or fear, keeping account of all we’ve gone through.
We can see God’s goodness woven through every situation, rooted in a confident trust that keeps our lives securely built on the Rock versus the sinking sand.
With Him we find rest for our souls, and no longer require perfect circumstances because His perfect peace overtakes us.
Know who you have access to, and be unshaken!
