Discover What Cannot Be Taken

Busy is a choice. ⁣

Life does not have a pause button on it . . . we have to make a conscious decision to slow down and put a pause on life. ⁣

For me, that means spacing out my list of tasks and scheduling things out, rather than piling up my plate so high I’m army crawling my way to a breaking point. ⁣

I don’t want to live my life with constant stress, holding my breath, to get to the proposed “finish line” only to find out there’s more to do. ⁣

Years ago a revelation of truth shifted the way I did my everyday. I realized that there will always be a list of things to take care of. ⁣

Duh, right? ⁣

But really, how I often do we take in that truth and stop allowing the endless list to be the manager of our life rather than managing our life well . . . and our well-being! ⁣

There will always be more, and this idea that checking off my lengthy task list to feel “accomplished” was nothing more than a mirage of water on a hot day. As soon as I got close to the end of the list, I found that the oasis of completion was not really there. It was moved to another distance. A distance that I could never really reach. Because it’s not really there. ⁣

This life will always be filled with demands that come at us from all sides but there’s only one thing that is worth being concerned about, and I have found it at the feet of Jesus. ⁣

At His feet, I find peace that never fades. I find comfort through life’s storms. I find healing for my soul and strength for the climb. ⁣

At His feet, the distractions and worries of this life fade to the back, and I find that His presence is the only thing that truly matters. ⁣And it can never be taken away from me.

I was gently reminded of this powerful truth, once again, as I’ve been pressing in asking the Lord what to “do” next as if what I’m doing is not enough . . . and He said; “come to my feet and rest.” ⁣

But the Lord said to her, ‘My dear Martha, you are worried and upset over all these details! There is only one thing worth being concerned about. Mary has discovered it, and it will not be taken away from her.’” Luke 10:41-42 NLT

⁣I believe that’s what He’s saying to you too. ♥️, J ⁣
