“At that time the disciples came to ask Jesus, ‘Who is considered to be the greatest in Heaven’s Kingdom realm?’ Jesus called a little one to His side and said to them, ‘Learn this well: Unless you dramatically change your way of thinking and become teachable, and learn about Heaven’s Kingdom realm with the wide-eyed wonder of a child, you will never be able to enter in.’ Matthew 18:1-3 (TPT)
. . . We have to dramatically change our thinking and become teachable. We have to become like that pure, innocent child that just believes what God says without hesitation or our interjected arguments (verbal or non verbal, eh-hem our thought life) that conflicts with God’s heart. We have to undo the thought patterns that have formed through life’s painful and hard experiences, and learn about the Kingdom of Heaven.
This undoing cannot take place through our human reasoning.
That will block us.
We might be able to quote scripture, explain the history of what was going on when the Bible was written, or even break down the scriptures and explain in depth what they mean, but that is still head knowledge.
Head knowledge does not activate our faith walk.
We can go to church each week, attend Bible studies, serve regularly, and still not experience the fullness of what we have through Jesus here on earth. We begin to believe that on this side of Heaven, we just have to accept this heavy and hard life, not understanding that Heaven is perfection, but our freedom and healing, (whether it be emotional, spiritual, or physical), is available now.
Not realizing or connecting with this, we begin to accept what the world throws at us. We live with brokenness in our hearts, anxiety, depression, stress, and knots in our stomach all day every day, convincing ourselves this is just the world we live in.
Then what exactly did Jesus pay for?
The truth is, that acceptance is human reasoning. It is having more of an awareness of self and the world around us than God, and His kingdom here on earth.” -Ripple Effect (new book coming soon)
